Joy Coe Hired to Seek Out Retreat Rentals for NovusWay Sites
Pr. Scott Barry had been coming to Lutheridge for years to attend the North Carolina Synod Fall Convocation. After his most recent experience, he commented to his wife Emily that Lutheridge would be a good place for her to bring the group she leads, The Care Project. The Care project, for single-parent families and their children with special needs, has scheduled a retreat at Lutheridge on, October 20, 2017. Emily was excited to report, “The campus has the facilities and is reasonably priced for The Care Project retreat. I can’t wait to come to the mountains!”
More and more groups are coming to Lutheridge for retreats and workshops. Genova Diagnostics, a diagnostic laboratory, comes for leadership training, as does Park Ridge Hospital. Habitat for Humanity brings volunteers to stay at Lutheridge when working on projects. Other groups include public and private schools, nonprofits, family reunions, and quilters, along with numerous church and service groups.
Keith Johnson, NovusWay Executive Director, announced that Joy Coe was recently hired to help Lutheridge, Lutherock, and Lutheranch become more intentional in serving non-traditional retreat groups like The Care Project. Keith declared, “Joy comes to NovusWay with a background in real estate and event planning. She has the experience, drive, and goal orientation to significantly increase guest participation. Part of her position will be to change the culture so that more groups like The Care Project come to our sites.”
All three of these sites are ideal spots for conferences, retreats, meetings, receptions, and reunions. Each location offers something unique to our guests. Lutheridge has something for everyone, is easily reached and close to many Asheville attractions, and offers a variety of accommodations. In its rugged mountain setting, Lutherock is perfect for those who love high adventure challenges and want to get a way to a secluded location. Lutheranch, just west of Atlanta, is conveniently located and offers all new facilities as well as a lovely lake setting—a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the metro areas.
Coe, who was raised in Charleston, SC, attended Lutheridge when she was 12 and 13. She exclaimed, “What great memories I have of my time in Pioneer B. I have other formative memories that would serve as important stepping stones along my own faith journey and as part of the foundation that nurtured a life-long belief in the transformative power of retreats, community building, and time in the outdoors.” Now 30 years later, she is joining the NovusWay sales team, “It feels great to have the opportunity to bring others to Lutheridge, as well as Lutherock and Lutheranch, so they may have experiences similar to mine – forging new relationships, strengthening current ones, soaking up nature at its finest, and being steeped in Christ’s love.”
